Yes. A scent itself cannot be trademarked or copyrighted in the UK, so a fragrance inspired by a designer perfume is legal as long as it is sold under its own brand and does not copy the original's name, logo or packaging, or imply any affiliation. (The UK trade mark registrar has declined to register a perfume's smell as a trade mark.) *Counterfeits* — fakes pretending to be the designer's own bottle — are illegal; inspired-by fragrances are not counterfeits.

A dupe or inspired-by fragrance smells similar to a designer scent but is sold openly under its own brand and makes no claim to be the original — that's legal. A counterfeit copies the designer's name, logo and packaging and pretends to *be* the original — that's illegal. Verse Perfume only sells legitimate inspired-by fragrances.

Yes, when produced to UK and EU cosmetic safety standards, which every fragrance sold here must meet. Neness compositions are IFRA 51 compliant and independently safety-assessed under a CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report). Each Neness composition is commissioned bespoke from a Grasse fragrance house and developed from a brief, rather than bought pre-mixed from brokers or chosen from a supplier's existing catalogue. A competitor arriving at the same house with a Neness barcode could not be sold the same formula.

Maceration is a resting period. After the fragrance compound and the alcohol are combined, Neness perfumes are matured for 21 days at a controlled temperature. This lets the oil and alcohol marry into a settled, rounded scent instead of smelling sharp on first spray.

We use the service that best matches your order and delivery address, so every order is tracked and typically arrives within 1 to 2 business days. You receive a tracking link on dispatch. Delivery is free on orders over £40, and £3.99 below that.

Verse Perfume offers a 30-day return policy: you have 30 days from receiving your item to request a return. Items must be unused (perfumes tested with no more than one or two sprays), in their original packaging with labels intact, and accompanied by proof of purchase. To start a return, email hello@verseperfume.com; approved returns are sent a return shipping label. For change-of-mind returns you cover the return postage, and original shipping costs aren't refundable. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are resolved at no cost to you, so contact us before returning them. Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within three business days.

You can cancel or change your order any time before it's dispatched. Given orders placed before 12:30pm (Mon–Fri) are dispatched the same day, contact us at hello@verseperfume.com as soon as possible. Please note that delivery addresses can't be amended once an order is placed. Once an order has been dispatched it can't be changed or cancelled, and you'll need to follow our returns policy instead.

Keep fragrance out of direct sunlight and away from heat to preserve it. Apply to pulse points (wrists, neck) on clean skin, and spritz onto clothing or hair (mist formats) for longer wear. Don't rub wrists together as it breaks down the top notes.

A 33ml bottle holds roughly 330–450 sprays and a 50ml roughly 500–700 (a standard atomiser delivers about 10 sprays per ml). At 3–4 sprays a day, that's around 3 months of daily wear from a 33ml and 4–6 months from a 50ml.
